HUMAN RIGHTS AND NEOLIBERAL POLICIES IN ARGENTINA AND LATIN AMERICA
This course will analyze the main topics which dominated the social, political and economic processes of the last three decades of the twentieth century, in the context of Latin America. The heavy indebtedness at the expense of the most disadvantaged sectors, the violations to the Human rights in its different forms, and the ignorance of the division of powers. The proposal also points to an holistic understanding of our reality, focusing on the responsibility of the States for the serious violations of human rights and different forms of inequality, the influence of Latin American social movements in the search for justice, truth and memory, the three pillars that became the essence of many years of social struggle.
REVOLUTIONARY WOMEN IN LATIN AMERICA
The main objective of this course is to understand and debate the role of feminism throughout the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century in Latin America. Historical milestones will be analyzed, such as the right to vote, dictatorial periods, the disappearance of children, the defense of gender rights, equal marriage and ongoing processes linked to the decriminalization of abortion.
In this way, cultural movements will be considered as a form of resistance and transformation through different expressions of politics, arts and literature.
SPANISH AND ARGENTINE CULTURE
You might have heard that Spanish in Argentina is quiet unique. The main purpose of this course is to improve the use of the Spanish language, in order to complement the immersion in the Argentine culture and the forms of local expression. The courses are organized in levels. There will be a previous test in order to adapt the dictation to the needs of students. It will be based on the stories of personal, work or family experiences.
INDIGENOUS INSTRUMENTS & NATIVE MUSIC IN THE AMERICAS
The main goal of this course is to introduce students into the principles of exquisite Pre Columbian lutherie and to immerse them into the ancient american music traditions.
This course is developed by faculties from the Orchestra of Indigenous Instruments and New Technologies from Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero.
The Orchestra has received (among others) the Musical Rights Award of the International Music Council for: “being an inspiring Program which recovers and gives artistic life to indigenous musical instruments, the majority of them long forgotten, at the same time that it develops research, composition, university Diplomas, community courses, exhibitions, concerts and a musical-pedagogical model for all levels.”
SPANISH & HEALTH IN ARGENTINA
Nursing is a significant profession in primary health care. Demographics, migrations, social and economic changes have determined important evolutions in the community health problems, making it necessary to train new professionals with sufficient skills for effective primary care.
Aim:
1. To get a real approach to the Argentine Health system, in relation to Primary Health Care and its regulations (in private and public state HC systems).
2. Identify the prevailing factors that are taken into account in current PHC programs.
3. Describe the nursing functions in PHC in health centers in the metropolitan area.
MEDICAL SPANISH
The Spanish program is aimed to complement the students practice at a health care institution and to be able to interact during the program. Thus, students will have support classes on the four basic skills: listening comprehension, oral production, reading comprehension and written production, that will be integrated in different situations related to the health area (such as group conversation, presentations, role plays, etc.).
The main objectives are that the students:
1. Can complement vocabulary for the understanding of medical terms.
2. Be able to write a report
3. Be able to have a conversation with a patient to diagnose the problem and the solution.
4. Be able to communicate with their peers at a health care institution.
SPORTS IN ARGENTINA
PRACTICE, MANAGEMENT AND SOCIAL INCLUSION
Get immersed into Argentine culture through sports.
This program offers different approaches to sport-related topics including amateur & professional practice as well as courses that focus on sport management, national and international federations, social inclusion and territorial scope of sport initiatives in Argentina.
With this program you will visit the Argentine Olympic Committee, The National Centre for Sport High Performance, the University Sport Federation and get immersed in the life of local leagues and associations.
